Essential Duties:
  • Team: Embody La Farm values through action, example, and communication: Exceed Customer Expectations, Quality, Dignity, Community, Learning, Teaching, and Innovation.
  • Customer Service: Ensure and exude world-class customer service and sales to internal and external customers. Includes saying “bonjour” (hello) to every customer. Engage verbally with each customer and effectively sell through product knowledge and suggestive selling. Follow the CARE acronym and greet customers within 15 seconds.
  • Product Knowledge: Actively demonstrates product knowledge (bread, pastry, baked goods, coffee, cheese, and specialty goods) to enable effective sales, up selling and merchandising of products. Knows café items to ensure accuracy of food taken to customer.
Other Essential Duties:
  • Operations Systems & Procedures
  • Coordinate with café line and barista staff to ensure proper orders are made, plated and delivered on time.
  • Process monitor data efficiently to execute ticket time goals.
  • Deliver coffee and food orders to customers, ensuring to confirm orders.
  • Correct orders, when necessary, per the customer’s request and expectations.
  • Assist in pre-busing and busing tables throughout shift.
  • May be responsible for delivering samples to guests.
  • Maintain coffee station: full fresh hot coffee, fresh cold creams, full condiments, and packaging, clean and organized, stock backup below.
  • Set-up expo station and reset station for next shift.
  • Perform daily open and close checklists.
  • Perform side work as necessary.
  • Answer the phone to La Farm standards.
  • Ensure overall unit safety and sanitation goals and policies.
  • Maintain grade “A” or better by beating health and sanitation inspection standards.
  • Uphold company standards and policies for opening/closing.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and comply with all laws.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Exceptional customer service skills and demonstrated sense of urgency to serve every customer.
  • Experience with customer service and/or food service preferred.
  • Ability to solve business related problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Great relationship building skills and demonstrated positive demeanor as a team player.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and multitask.
  • Flexibility required: Weekends required, holiday work required, two days off (not consecutive).
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Multi-lingual a plus.
Essential Physical Demands:
  • Ability to bend and lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Compensation: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

LONG-TERM DISABILITY and SHORT-TERM DISABILITY
Long-Term and Short-term disability plans are an optional benefit and paid by employees through payroll deduction. This benefit applies to non-work-related injuries and illnesses. Short-Term disability covers 60% of your base salary to a maximum of $1,000 per week, for up to 26 weeks. There is a 14-day waiting period. Long-Term disability covers the portion of your base salary you select starting at 27 weeks up to federal retirement age.
EMPLOYEE LIFE INSURANCE and ACCIDENTAL DEATH & DISMEMBERMENT (AD&D)
La Farm offers basic life insurance for employees that is a 100% employer-paid benefit equal to your annual salary. Additional life insurance options are available for employees, spouses, and dependents. Employees are responsible for the cost of these voluntary options.
PAID TIME OFF (PTO)
Paid Time Off (PTO) provides employees the flexibility to use time off to meet personal needs. An employee is eligible to accrue PTO if he/she works a minimum of 30 hours per week and has completed 90 days of continuous employment.
